以便 — so that / in order to

How it works
以便 joins a first action to a purpose it makes easier: "so that / in order to (make it convenient to)." The main clause states what is done; 以便 introduces the outcome it is meant to enable. It is formal in tone.
Examples
请留下您的电话，以便我们及时联系您。
Qǐng liúxià nín de diànhuà, yǐbiàn wǒmen jíshí liánxì nín.
Please leave your phone number so that we can contact you in time.
大家早点儿到，以便会议准时开始。
Dàjiā zǎo diǎnr dào, yǐbiàn huìyì zhǔnshí kāishǐ.
Everyone should arrive a bit early so the meeting can start on time.
