How it works
为的是 comes after a stated action and introduces its purpose: "the aim being to / so as to." It puts the action first and the goal second — the reverse of 为了, which leads with the goal.
Examples
他每天很早起床，为的是能多学一会儿。
Tā měitiān hěn zǎo qǐchuáng, wèi de shì néng duō xué yíhuìr.
He gets up very early every day, so as to study a bit more.
我提前告诉你，为的是让你有个准备。
Wǒ tíqián gàosu nǐ, wèi de shì ràng nǐ yǒu ge zhǔnbèi.
I'm telling you in advance so that you can be prepared.
