How it works
依 marks the standard something is judged or done by: "according to". 依我看 "the way I see it" is its most frequent spoken use; 依照 and 依据 are the fuller written forms.
Examples
依我看，这个方案更好。
Yī wǒ kàn, zhège fāng'àn gèng hǎo.
The way I see it, this plan is better.
请依规定办理。
Qǐng yī guīdìng bànlǐ.
Please proceed according to the regulations.
