How it works
幸好 names the lucky circumstance that kept trouble away, and is usually followed by a clause with 否则/要不然 saying what would otherwise have happened. It is interchangeable with 幸亏.
Examples
幸好带了伞，不然就淋湿了。
Xìnghǎo dài le sǎn, bùrán jiù lín shī le.
Luckily I brought an umbrella, or I'd have got soaked.
幸好你提醒我。
Xìnghǎo nǐ tíxǐng wǒ.
