How it works
为了…而… is a formal frame linking a purpose to the action taken for it — "in order to …, (one) …". 为了 states the goal and 而 connects it to the verb, giving a written, deliberate tone.
Examples
他为了实现梦想而努力工作。
Tā wèile shíxiàn mèngxiǎng ér nǔlì gōngzuò.
He works hard in order to realize his dream.
我们不应该为了金钱而放弃原则。
Wǒmen bù yīnggāi wèile jīnqián ér fàngqì yuánzé.
We shouldn't abandon our principles for the sake of money.
许多人为了健康而坚持锻炼。
Xǔduō rén wèile jiànkāng ér jiānchí duànliàn.
Many people keep exercising for the sake of their health.
