替 — for / on behalf of / in place of

How it works
替 before a person marks doing something for them or in their place — "for", "on behalf of". It is close to 给 or 为 but stresses standing in for someone.
Examples
我替你去开会。
Wǒ tì nǐ qù kāihuì.
I'll go to the meeting for you.
请替我问他好。
Qǐng tì wǒ wèn tā hǎo.
Please say hello to him for me.
大家都替她高兴。
Dàjiā dōu tì tā gāoxìng.
Everyone was happy for her.
