HSK 7–9 grammar · adverb
颇
颇 — quite, rather (formal)
Pattern
+
+
( ) can be left out · other words may come before, between and after
How it works
颇 is the written counterpart of 很: "quite, rather". It is especially common in the fixed frame 颇有 + noun (颇有道理 "makes quite a lot of sense"). Reserve it for writing and formal speech.
Examples
他的看法颇有道理。
Tā de kànfǎ pō yǒu dàolǐ.
His view makes quite a lot of sense.
