即使…也… — even if

How it works
Marks a hypothetical or extreme condition (A) that still does not change the result (B). It differs from 虽然 in that 即使 supposes a situation that may not be real, while 虽然 concedes a fact that is real.
Examples
即使下大雨，我也会准时到。
Jíshǐ xià dà yǔ, wǒ yě huì zhǔnshí dào.
Even if it pours, I'll still arrive on time.
即使很贵，他也想买那辆车。
Jíshǐ hěn guì, tā yě xiǎng mǎi nà liàng chē.
Even if it's expensive, he still wants to buy that car.
