How it works
及 joins nouns in written Chinese, like a formal 和. In a list it comes before the last item, and it often ranks the items — what follows 及 is the lesser one. It never joins clauses or verbs.
Examples
请带好身份证及相关材料。
Qǐng dài hǎo shēnfènzhèng jí xiāngguān cáiliào.
Please bring your ID and the related documents.
本店经营水果、蔬菜及日用品。
Běn diàn jīngyíng shuǐguǒ, shūcài jí rìyòngpǐn.
This shop sells fruit, vegetables and daily necessities.
