HSK 7–9 grammar · conjunction
或⋯⋯,或⋯⋯
或⋯⋯,或⋯⋯ — either …, or …
Pattern
+ +
( ) can be left out · other words may come before, between and after
How it works
The paired 或…或… lists alternatives in written Chinese: "whether … or …". Both halves take 或, and the frame states possibilities rather than asking the listener to choose — for a real question use 还是.
Examples
或步行,或骑车,都可以到达。
Huò bùxíng, huò qíchē, dōu kěyǐ dàodá.

Rénmen huò zuò huò zhàn, děngzhe kāichǎng.
People sat or stood, waiting for it to begin.
