How it works
对于 introduces the topic that an attitude, view, or action concerns — "regarding", "with regard to". It often opens the sentence. Where a verb is aimed at a person, plain 对 is used instead; 对于 marks a topic, not a bare addressee.
Examples
对于这个问题，大家有不同的看法。
Duìyú zhège wèntí, dàjiā yǒu bùtóng de kànfǎ.
Regarding this question, people have different views.
对于健康，运动非常重要。
Duìyú jiànkāng, yùndòng fēicháng zhòngyào.
As for health, exercise is very important.
他对于工作很认真。
Tā duìyú gōngzuò hěn rènzhēn.
He is very conscientious about his work.
