How it works
别提了 is a conversational opener waving away a topic that went badly: "don't even get me started". It usually precedes the very account it claims not to want to give.
Examples
别提了，昨天堵了三个小时。
Biétí le, zuótiān dǔ le sān gè xiǎoshí.
Don't even ask — I was stuck in traffic for three hours yesterday.
考得怎么样？别提了。
Kǎo de zěnmeyàng? Biétí le.
How was the exam? Don't ask.
