How it works
Repeating an adjective makes a description more vivid and lively. One-syllable adjectives double as AA (慢慢), two-syllable ones as AABB (干干净净). The reduplicated form often takes 的 and does not use 很.
Examples
他慢慢地走。
Tā mànmàn de zǒu.
He walks slowly.
房间干干净净的。
Fángjiān gāngānjìngjìng de.
The room is spotless.
她有一双大大的眼睛。
Tā yǒu yì shuāng dàdà de yǎnjing.
She has big round eyes.
