Chinese to pinyin converter
Paste simplified Chinese and get its pinyin, cut into words the way you would read them, with what each word means.
How it works
The text is cut into words with Inkpaper’s dictionary, taking the longest word that fits from the left, so 面包 reads miànbāo as one word rather than two characters. Each word gets its pinyin with tone marks, its meaning, and its HSK level. Open a word for its own page, with its sound and sentences it appears in.
A character can have more than one reading (行 is xíng or háng). The converter shows the reading the dictionary gives the word, which is the usual one; an unusual use can read differently. A character outside every word in the dictionary gets the reading it most often has in other words, and a question mark when there is none.
Want to know how hard the text is? Paste it into the HSK level checker.
