How it works
最 before an adjective or a feeling-verb marks the highest degree — "the most" or "-est". It picks out the top one in a group.
Examples
他是最高的。
Tā shì zuì gāo de.
He is the tallest.
我最喜欢夏天。
Wǒ zuì xǐhuan xiàtiān.
I like summer best.
