How it works
一边…一边 shows that one subject does two actions simultaneously. Both verbs are ongoing activities done by the same person at the same time; it can be shortened to 边…边 in casual speech.
Examples
她一边吃饭一边看电视。
Tā yìbiān chī fàn yìbiān kàn diànshì.
She eats while watching TV.
他们一边走一边聊天。
Tāmen yìbiān zǒu yìbiān liáotiān.
They chat while walking.
