X什么
X什么(啊)— what's there to X! (dismissive)
Pattern
+ +
( ) can be left out · other words may come before, between and after
How it works
Putting 什么 after a verb or adjective dismisses or rejects it — "what's there to …!", "don't …!". 急什么 means "what's the rush", 谢什么 means "no need to thank".
Examples
急什么啊,时间还早。
Jí shénme a, shíjiān hái zǎo.
What's the rush? It's still early.
谢什么,这是我应该做的。
Xiè shénme, zhè shì wǒ yīnggāi zuò de.
No need to thank me, it's what I should do.
哭什么,这点小事。
Kū shénme, zhè diǎn xiǎo shì.
What are you crying for? Such a small thing.
