无所谓X不X

无所谓X不X — it makes no difference whether X

Pattern

+ + +
( ) can be left out · other words may come before, between and after

How it works

无所谓X不X says the distinction simply does not apply or does not matter: 无所谓贵不贵 "cheap or dear is beside the point". The same word fills both slots, affirmed then negated.

Examples

我无所谓去不去。
Wǒ wúsuǒwèi qù bú qù.
It's all the same to me whether I go.
这种事无所谓对不对。
Zhè zhǒng shì wúsuǒwèi duì bú duì.
With this sort of thing, right and wrong don't really come into it.
