顺便 — while you're at it, in passing

How it works
顺便 adds a small second errand carried out on the way to the main one: "while you're at it". The main action comes first; 顺便 introduces the incidental extra.
Examples
你去超市顺便买点儿盐。
Nǐ qù chāoshì shùnbiàn mǎi diǎnr yán.
While you're at the supermarket, pick up some salt.
顺便问一下，你几点下班？
Shùnbiàn wèn yíxià, nǐ jǐ diǎn xiàbān?
By the way, what time do you finish work?
