How it works
甚至 highlights an extreme case that goes beyond the rest — "even", "to the point that". It introduces the strongest item in a series and often pairs with 都/也 after it.
Examples
他很忙，甚至没时间吃饭。
Tā hěn máng, shènzhì méi shíjiān chīfàn.
He's so busy he doesn't even have time to eat.
这个字很难，甚至老师也不认识。
Zhège zì hěn nán, shènzhì lǎoshī yě bú rènshi.
This character is so hard that even the teacher doesn't know it.
他去过很多国家，甚至去过南极。
Tā qù guo hěn duō guójiā, shènzhì qù guo Nánjí.
He's been to many countries, even Antarctica.
