名词谓语句

名词谓语句 — noun predicate (no 是)

Pattern

+
a time, an age, a price or a date
( ) can be left out · other words may come before, between and after

How it works

For age, clock time, dates, prices, and the weather, a noun phrase can serve as the predicate directly, with no 是. It is common in casual speech; the negative form does add 不是.

Examples

今天星期一。
Jīntiān xīngqīyī.
Today is Monday.
他二十岁。
Tā èrshí suì.
He is twenty years old.
现在三点半。
Xiànzài sān diǎn bàn.
It's half past three now.
