How it works
The adverb 可 adds emphasis to a statement, reinforcing feeling or warning: "really / certainly / do (be sure to)." It often ends with 了 or 呢 for exclamation, and 可要/可别 gives an earnest reminder.
Examples
你可来了，我们都等急了！
Nǐ kě lái le, wǒmen dōu děng jí le!
You're finally here — we were all anxiously waiting!
路上可要小心啊！
Lù shang kě yào xiǎoxīn a!
Do be careful on the way!
