How it works
过 after a verb says you have had the experience of doing something at least once before, at some unspecified time.
Examples
我去过中国。
Wǒ qù guo Zhōngguó.
I've been to China.
你吃过北京烤鸭吗？
Nǐ chī guo Běijīng kǎoyā ma?
Have you ever eaten Peking duck?
