HSK 1 grammar · preposition
跟
跟/和 — with (together with)
Pattern
+ + +
+ + + +
( ) can be left out · other words may come before, between and after
How it works
跟 (or 和) before a person marks who you do something together with, like "with". Note 和 can also join two nouns as "and"; here it links a person to the action rather than listing nouns.
Examples
我跟你一起去。
Wǒ gēn nǐ yìqǐ qù.
I'll go with you.
他跟朋友说话。
Tā gēn péngyou shuōhuà.
He is talking with a friend.
我和妈妈去买东西。
Wǒ hé māma qù mǎi dōngxi.
I go shopping with mom.
