How it works
仿佛 before the predicate means something seems or feels a certain way — "as if", "as though". It is a written-register synonym of 好像 and often pairs with 一样 or 似的.
Examples
听到这首歌，我仿佛回到了童年。
Tīngdào zhè shǒu gē, wǒ fǎngfú huídào le tóngnián.
Hearing this song, I felt as if I'd returned to my childhood.
他仿佛没听见，一句话也没说。
Tā fǎngfú méi tīngjiàn, yí jù huà yě méi shuō.
He acted as if he hadn't heard, saying nothing.
眼前的景色仿佛一幅画。
Yǎnqián de jǐngsè fǎngfú yì fú huà.
The scene before me was like a painting.
