双宾语

双宾语 — double object (give someone something)

Pattern

+ + +
( ) can be left out · other words may come before, between and after

How it works

Some verbs like 给, 教, 告诉, and 送 take two objects in a row: first the person (indirect), then the thing (direct). No preposition is needed between them.

Examples

他给我一本书。
Tā gěi wǒ yì běn shū.
He gives me a book.
老师教我们中文。
Lǎoshī jiāo wǒmen Zhōngwén.
The teacher teaches us Chinese.
请告诉我你的名字。
Qǐng gàosu wǒ nǐ de míngzi.
Please tell me your name.
