从…起 — starting from (a time / point)

How it works
从 … 起 marks the moment something starts to apply — "starting from …", "from … on". 起 closes the time phrase and the following clause states what will be true from then on.
Examples
从今天起，我要早睡早起。
Cóng jīntiān qǐ, wǒ yào zǎo shuì zǎo qǐ.
Starting today, I'll sleep and wake early.
从下个月起，房租涨了。
Cóng xià ge yuè qǐ, fángzū zhǎng le.
Starting next month, the rent goes up.
从明天起，商店八点开门。
Cóng míngtiān qǐ, shāngdiàn bā diǎn kāimén.
From tomorrow on, the shop opens at eight.
