How it works
To give a rough number, put two neighboring numbers together (三四个 "three or four"), add 几 for "a few" (十几 "ten-something"), or add 多 / 左右 for "more than" / "around".
Examples
这里有三四个人。
Zhèlǐ yǒu sān sì gè rén.
There are three or four people here.
他今年二十多岁。
Tā jīnnián èrshí duō suì.
He's twenty-some years old this year.
我等了十分钟左右。
Wǒ děng le shí fēnzhōng zuǒyòu.
I waited about ten minutes.
