How it works
按 or 按照 before a noun says an action follows a rule, plan, or order — "according to", "in accordance with". 按照 is a little more formal; both go before the verb.
Examples
请按照说明使用。
Qǐng ànzhào shuōmíng shǐyòng.
Please use it according to the instructions.
我们按计划出发。
Wǒmen àn jìhuà chūfā.
We set off according to plan.
按照规定，这里不能停车。
Ànzhào guīdìng, zhèlǐ bù néng tíngchē.
According to the rules, you can't park here.
