有(达到)

有 — reaching a measurement or age ("he's 1.8 m tall")

Pattern

+ + +
+ +
( ) can be left out · other words may come before, between and after

How it works

Besides possession and existence, 有 states that something REACHES a measurement, age or degree: 他有一米八高 "he is one metre eighty tall", 他有三十多岁 "he is thirty-odd". The measure word comes before the adjective, which is the opposite of English order. Negate with 没有, and note that the same frame does comparison — 你哥哥有你高吗? asks whether he has reached your height.
