因

因 — because of / owing to (formal 因为)

Pattern

+ + +
+ +
( ) can be left out · other words may come before, between and after

How it works

因 is the formal, written short form of 因为 — "because of", "owing to". It introduces a cause before the result, often teaming up with 而 in the main clause.
