How it works
说什么也得X (or 怎么着也得X) means one is determined to do X regardless of any objection — "no matter what, (I/you) have to X". 说什么/怎么着 waves away all excuses and 也得 marks the firm obligation.
Examples
今天说什么也得把它做完。
Jīntiān shuō shénme yě děi bǎ tā zuò wán.
No matter what, I have to finish it today.
这么远来看你，怎么着也得吃顿饭。
Zhème yuǎn lái kàn nǐ, zěnmezhe yě děi chī dùn fàn.
Coming all this way to see you, we simply must have a meal together.
你病了，说什么也得去医院。
Nǐ bìng le, shuō shénme yě děi qù yīyuàn.
You're ill; no matter what, you have to go to the hospital.
