意念被动句

意念被动句 — passive in meaning, with no 被

Pattern

+ +
as the topic
+ +
as the topic
( ) can be left out · other words may come before, between and after

How it works

A sentence can be passive in meaning while carrying no 被 at all: the thing acted on is simply made the topic and context supplies the rest — 饭做好了 "the food has been cooked". This is the ORDINARY way to say it. Reaching for 被 here sounds wrong, because 被 tends to mark something unwanted or remarkable, so 饭被做好了 implies someone had no business cooking it.

Examples

饭做好了,快来吃吧。
Fàn zuò hǎo le, kuài lái chī ba.
The food is ready — come and eat.
信已经寄出去了。
Xìn yǐjīng jì chūqù le.
The letter has already been sent.
那本书借走了,下星期才能还回来。
Nà běn shū jiè zǒu le, xià xīngqī cái néng huán huílái.
That book has been borrowed; it won't be back until next week.
