How it works
非…不可 wraps a verb to express strong necessity or inevitability — "simply must …", "have to …", or "bound to …". The literal "not … not acceptable" doubles as heavy emphasis.
Examples
这件事非他去不可。
Zhè jiàn shì fēi tā qù bùkě.
For this, he simply has to be the one to go.
你病得这么重，非去医院不可。
Nǐ bìng de zhème zhòng, fēi qù yīyuàn bùkě.
You're so ill you absolutely must go to the hospital.
再不睡觉，明天非迟到不可。
Zài bú shuìjiào, míngtiān fēi chídào bùkě.
If you don't sleep now, you're bound to be late tomorrow.
