得了

得了 — that's enough / that'll do

Pattern

means: cut it out
+ +
( ) can be left out · other words may come before, between and after

How it works

得了 (déle) as an exclamation stops or dismisses something: "that's enough / OK, forget it / cut it out." After a verb phrase with 就 it means an action will suffice: "just … and that will do."

Examples

得了得了,别再说了。
Déle déle, bié zài shuō le.
All right, all right, stop going on about it.
这点小事,你打个电话就得了。
Zhè diǎn xiǎoshì, nǐ dǎ ge diànhuà jiù déle.
For such a small matter, just make a phone call and that'll do.
