HSK 5 grammar · adverb
大都
大都 — mostly / for the most part
Pattern
+ +
( ) can be left out · other words may come before, between and after
How it works
大都 is a scope adverb meaning "mostly / for the most part / the great majority." It goes before the verb and says that most members of the group fit the statement, leaving room for exceptions — unlike 都 (all), which admits none.
Examples
来参加的大都是年轻人。
Lái cānjiā de dàdū shì niánqīngrén.
