How it works
A的A，B的B describes a group in which different members are each busy with different things at once, painting a bustling scene: "some (doing) A, some (doing) B." Each 的 nominalizes a sub-group by what it is doing.
Examples
下课了，教室里唱的唱，跳的跳，热闹极了。
Xiàkè le, jiàoshì li chàng de chàng, tiào de tiào, rènao jíle.
After class the classroom was a lively scene — some singing, some dancing.
一到周末，逛街的逛街，睡觉的睡觉，各做各的。
Yí dào zhōumò, guàngjiē de guàngjiē, shuìjiào de shuìjiào, gè zuò gè de.
Come the weekend, some go shopping and some sleep in — everyone does their own thing.
